Affective States during Asymmetric VR Games

Abstract

We developed an EEG-based algorithm and interface to visualize arousal states in asymmetric multiplayer VR games in order to enhance social connection.

We use EmotivPRO to collect the brainwave data. Users will experience the asymmetric VR game we built, one will play as the main character in the scene, the other will be the one responsible to help the character complete their mission. During the game, we will collect and display their affective state to each other, in order to know if this will improve the collaboration among users. ✨ What I've done for this project (mainly 4 people in our team) ✨

  • Designed and implemented the VR scenes.

  • Designed and conducted the experiments with more than 10 participants.

  • Researched and improved the EEG-based algorithm to get better accuracy.

  • Analyzed and visualized the collected physiological data.
